Bandres Catapults Bucs into Rankings; Earns A-Sun Honors

MACON, Ga. – ETSU's Jesus Bandres captured his third Atlantic Sun Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor of the season, fifth of his career, as the Buccaneers defeated Stetson and FGCU to move up to No. 74 in the ITA Men's Tennis Rankings.

  • Fifth Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor; third this season
  • Went perfect on the week vs. Stetson and FGCU playing at No. 1 singles & doubles
  • Defeated Stetson's Didrik Berg; 6-2, 6-1 and FGCU's Jordy Vives; 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 1-0 (10-8)
  • Guided Buccaneers to two road wins vs. Hatters (6-1) and Eagles (7-0)
  • Ranked No. 120 in singles by ITA; ETSU now ranked No. 74 in the nation


  • Cahit Kapukiran (Fr., Stetson) – Went undefeated in singles play; earned only point vs. ETSU in singles play
  • Oliver Strecker (Sr., Lipscomb) – Helped Bisons extend winning streak to four matches with perfect week
  • Maksim Yorsh (Fr., Kennesaw State) – Guided Owls to 6-1 win vs. NKU; ranks second on the team with six singles wins
  • Matthias Kidler (Jr., USC Upstate) – Perfect at No. 1 singles on the week vs. Stetson and FGCU; ranked No. 111 in the country
