Stetson Nationally Ranked for First Time Since 2001
Date Posted: 3/13/2007
DeLand, Fla. – The Stetson University men’s tennis team moved into the national rankings for the first time in six years on Tuesday. Thanks in part to a five-match winning streak the Hatters checked in at No. 72 in the FILA Collegiate Tennis Rankings.
It is the first national ranking for Stetson (9-5, 3-1 A-Sun) since they rated 75th on March 28, 2001. This year’s team has defeated #70 Utah and won nine of the last 10 competitions.
The only other Atlantic Sun Conference team that is ranked is East Tennessee State and the Buccaneers will meet the Hatters in DeLand this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Last year Stetson lost to ETSU 5-2.
