MACON, Ga. - ETSU senior Predrag Burmazovic continued his unblemished conference singles season last week, and provided the decisive point in the Bucs' battle for first place against Stetson. On Friday, the conference office honored him with his second career Player of the Week award. Burmazovic opened his junior season as the first Player of the Week honoree of the 2007 season.

The business major defeated Mikkel Muller of FGCU, 6-0, 6-2 on Friday before clinching the victory for the Bucs against No. 59 Stetson by defeating Joey Jones, 6-4, 6-0 on Saturday. The Bucs' victory against then-59th-ranked Stetson catapulted the Bucs to a program-high No. 33 national ranking in addition to putting ETSU in sole possession of first place in the conference.

The Atlantic Sun Conference is a 12-member league committed to Building Winners for Life, with a focus on academic and athletic integrity and a balance between the two for the student-athlete, and maintaining a high level of sportsmanship. Headquartered in Macon, Ga., the A-Sun encompasses six of the top eight media markets in the Southeast. The A-Sun consists of some of the most dynamic private and public institutions in the region: Belmont University, Campbell University, East Tennessee State University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Gardner-Webb University, Jacksonville University, Kennesaw State University, Lipscomb University, Mercer University, University of North Florida, University of South Carolina Upstate and Stetson University.
