Sims Springs into his First Weekly Award

MACON, Ga. - The 2009 A-Sun Indoor Top Track Performer, Harold Sims, claimed two hurdles titles at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational to earn Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Sims, a biological science major, claimed both the men's 110 and 400 meter hurdle titles to post two of the six Campbell wins at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational. The 2008 400-meter hurdle A-Sun Champion qualified for NCAA Regional competition with his 400 hurdle time.

The junior registered a time of 14.43 in the 110 meter hurdles, while notching a 52.18 in the 400 meter hurdle competition to clinch his first two wins of the outdoor season, and the fourth of the 2008-09 year. The Oxford, N.C. native was also a part of the men's 4x400 meter relay team that also posted a win in Lynchburg, as Campbell recorded a time of 3:17.93, along with Adoniss Jones, Marvin Gordon and Christopher Pauling.

Duronal Monal, ETSU (Sprints - Belle Glade, Fla. - Jr. - Pre-Business) -- Monal enjoyed a solid weekend at the 2009 Florida Relays on Friday afternoon inside James G. Pressly Stadium. Monal enjoyed his homecoming by finishing 18th with a season best time of 10.66. The Buccaneer sprinter also took over the top spot in the conference.
