Courtesy GoCamels.com Wednesday, May 06, 2009 MACON, Ga. - Already the owner of an NCAA Regional time in the 110-meter hurdles, Campbell’s Adonnis Jones improved on his time at the Mason Outdoor Invitational to earn the Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award, the conference office announced on Wednesday. Jones, a native of Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, lowered his NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the men’s 110-meter hurdles, edging Maryland’s Legonn Haskins as the fastest hurdler at the Mason Outdoor Invitational Saturday afternoon. Jones’14.23 matched a personal best and former school record (junior Harold Sims broke the mark earlier this season at the UNC Invitational, posting a time of 14.22), after qualifying at the Appalachian Invitational two weekends ago with a 14.24. Other Top Performers Mike James, ETSU (So. - Hurdles - Palm Bay, Fla. - Undeclared) – James set a Regional Qualifying Mark in the 110-meter hurdles on Thursday evening at the Liberty Twilight meet, located on the Matthes-Hopkins Track. James became the first Buccaneer athlete on the men’s side to set a regional qualifying mark this season, by cruising his way to the top of the list in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles. The sophomore runner won the prelims with a time of 14.27 and finished fifth in the finals. |
