MACON, Ga. - Duronal Monal highlighted the Buccaneers on the track last Tuesday night, as the junior sprinter cruised his way to a pair of regional qualifying marks at the Smoky Mountain Twilight Meet, located on the Tom Black Track inside LaPorte Stadium to earn his first career Athlete of the Week award, the conference announced Wednesday.

Monal flew his way to regional qualifying marks in both the 100 and 200-meter events on Tuesday. The junior sprinter finished second in the 100m with a time of 10.46 - and after finishing behind Tennessee's Joseph Morris in the 100m - Monal beat him out by turning in his second regional qualifying time in the 200m. The Belle Glade, Fla., native won the event by clocking in with a blazing time of 21.18. Monal sits atop the conference performance list in both events, and is the reigning 100m A-Sun Champion.
