MACON, Ga. – USC Upstate’s Brandon Curry set a school record in the 110-meter hurdles to earn Atlantic Sun Track Athlete of the Week honors while teammate Eric Chapman put together some solid throws to earn Field Athlete of the Week accolades.

On Friday at the 49er Classic, Curry posted a school-record time of 15.03 in the 110-meter hurdles. The freshman surpassed Reggie Thompson’s mark of 15.80 that was set at last season’s Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships. Curry’s time of 15.03 stands as the third-fastest in the A-Sun. The Anderson S.C. native also competed in the 200-meter dash at the 49er Classic.

Chapman competed in both the hammer throw and the discus throw at the 49er Classic. In the hammer throw, the junior recorded a mark of 136-07.00 (41.64m) as he finished 18th. That toss of 136-07.00 (41.64m) ranks as the fourth-best in the Atlantic Sun. In the discus throw, Chapman finished 22nd with a mark of 110-08.00 (33.74m).
