Saturday, May 29, 2010 GREENSBORO, N.C. – Campbell’s Adoniss Jones won his heat in the first round of qualifying in the 110-meter hurdles to lead three A-Sun sprinters who advanced to the quarterfinals at the NCAA East Preliminary Round Track & Field meet. Kendall Parks of Kennesaw State and Michael James of ETSU will join Jones in a dash for a spot in the final rounds of competition at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. Tomorrow will feature three quarterfinal heats and the trio will need to place among the top-3 in his heat or post one of the day’s fastest three times outside the auto-qualifiers. Jerome McKinzie cleared 2.11 meters in the high jump to finish in a tie for eighth and advance to the finals in Eugene, Ore. Kennesaw State teammates Tremaine Green (110m Hurdles) and Josh McNair (Shot Put) finished their seasons after finishing below the qualifying standard. Competition will conclude tomorrow and the field for Eugene will be set. |
