Macon, Ga. -- ETSU's James Rainer picked up where he left in indoor as he was
named Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week today by the conference office.
The Alcoa, Tenn., native ran a season best 10.52 in the 100-meters at the Raleigh
Relays last week. His time was .13 seconds faster than the next best finisher
and was only .02 seconds away from meeting the NCAA regional qualifying mark.
Rainer is a senior, majoring in education. This marks his second A-Sun Athlete
of the Week honor. He received the award during the indoor track season.
The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the 2006
outdoor track season.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
