Macon, Ga. -- Gardner-Webb's Dobson Collins was named A-Sun Athlete of the
Week today by the conference office.
The rookie from Stone Mountain, Ga., broke the school record in the 110H with
a time of 15.12 at the Clemson Orange and Purple Classic last weekend. Collins
is a two-sport star for the Bulldogs, splitting his time between football and
track and field.
This is Collins' first Athlete of the Week award and the fourth for a Gardner-Webb
student-athlete.
The Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week is announced every Wednesday during the
2006 outdoor track season.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
