On the Horizon for ASun.TV, the Lipscomb baseball team moves closer to the No. 1 seed in the A-Sun Baseball Championship as the A-Sun softball squads jockey for position in the upcoming A-Sun Softball Championship.
In the A-Sun Series of the Week, Lipscomb (21-19, 15-9 A-Sun) moves in on claiming the No. 1 seed in the upcoming A-Sun Baseball Championship when they face visiting ETSU (12-29, 8-16 A-Sun). With a series win against the Bucs, the Bisons could all-but secure the top spot. Brandon McClurg and the Bisons' pitching staff will have their hands full, however, as the Bucs come in boasting a leage-high 57 home runs. The crucial series begins with a 7:00 p.m. ET first-pitch on Friday and continues with two more games throughout the weekend. Elsewhere in conference action, Belmont hosts USC Upstate for a three-game set and Gardner-Webb travles to Mercer for a twinbill, all of which can be seen on ASun.TV.
Entering the final weekend of conference play, only one A-Sun softball team can claim a seed for the 2008 A-Sun Softball Championship. With Lipscomb holding the No. 1 spot, the two-through-six seeds are all up for grabs. The ETSU Bucs (24-29, 8-10 A-Sun) can end up as high as the No. 2 seed or as low as No. 6, and have an opportunity to move either way in the A-Sun Series of the Week against Kennesaw State (33-16, 11-7 A-Sun). The doubleheader takes place on Saturday, with the first pitch set for 2:00 p.m. ET and game two to follow. ASun.TV also features ETSU traveling to Mercer for a Friday doubleheader and USC Upstate visiting the Bears for a pair on Sunday.
Beginning in 2007, the Atlantic Sun and Play ON! Sports, a division of Turner Sports will be providing exclusive online video streaming of all sports for nine of the A-Sun member institutions. All events will be available for viewing both live and via on-demand replay to fans throughout the country.
