MACON, Ga. – Belmont’s Maggie Johnson, the Atlantic Sun Preseason Player of the Year, earned her first career A-Sun Volleyball Player of the Week honor after she helped the Bruins to four wins on the week and totaled 68 kills and 54 digs.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Maggie Johnson, Belmont (Sr. – Outside Hitter – Naperville, Ill. – Exercise Science)
- First Career Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honor
- Named Kangaroo Klassic Tournament MVP after leading Bruins to 3-0 weekend
- Totaled 68 kills on the week with 54 digs and five blocks
- Currently ranks first in kills (177) and points (191) and fourth in digs (143) in the A-Sun
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Kelli Carneal (Jr., Stetson) – Amassed 103 assists and 19 kills in the Clarion Classic
- Carolyn Jenkins (Jr., North Florida) – Totaled a season-best six blocks against Presbyterian
- Jennifer Katona (Jr., Mercer) – Delivered nine block assists in program’s first win against Georgia
- Justine Young (Sr., Kennesaw State) – Set Kennesaw State record with 25 kills against Troy
- Megan Devine (So., ETSU) – Led Lady Bucs to Country Inn & Suites Invitational team title
- Emily Sanders (Jr., USC Upstate) – Recorded third double-double of the season against Air Force
- Abby Fay (Sr., Lipscomb) – Named Golden Dome Invitational All-Tournament with 128 assists
