Johnson and Bruins Open Conference Play with Two Wins

MACON, Ga. – Belmont opened up conference play with two road wins behind the effort of Maggie Johnson, who tallied 38 kills and 25 digs, to pick up her second Atlantic Sun Volleyball Player of the Week honor this season.

• Second Career Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honor; second this season
• Led Bruins to a 2-0 start in conference play with wins at Kennesaw State and Mercer
• Totaled 38 kills, 25 digs with a .283 hitting percentage
• Moved into sixth place all-time in A-Sun with 1,331 career kills; eight away from fifth

• Katie Holm (So., FGCU) – Helped Eagles start 2-0 in A-Sun play with 27 kills and five blocks
• Anna Budinska (So., North Florida) – Recorded second double-double of the season at FAMU
• Jennifer Katona (Jr., Mercer) – Led Bears with 23 kills and 10 blocks on the week
• Megan Devine (So., ETSU) – Recorded a game-high 13 kills in A-Sun opener vs. USC Upstate
• Katie Rose (Sr., Lipscomb) – Led Bisons to 37th straight A-Sun conference win with 2-0 start
• Emily Sanders (Jr., USC Upstate) – Registered 24 assists and nine digs against ETSU
