MACON, Ga. - North Florida's Parker Smith rewrote the record books with his 46-point performance vs. Mercer by nailing 11 three-pointers to tie the A-Sun record for points in a conference game and most threes made in a contest. USC Upstate's Ty Greene added some dramatics of his own as he hit a last-second step-back three-pointer to win at Lipscomb.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Parker Smith, North Florida (Jr. – Guard – Gainesville, Ga. – Sports Management)
- Second Career Player of the Week award
- Netted a program record 46 points in win vs. Mercer on 11 three-pointers
- Tied A-Sun record for three-pointers made and points in a conference game
- Second-most points scored this season in the nation and most trifectas made in a game
- His 11 made three-pointers ranks tied for 15th most in NCAA Division I history
- Also went a perfect 12-for-12 from the charity stripe on the week
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Adam Pegg (Jr., Stetson) – Scored 23 points and added five rebounds and two assists in win at FGCU
- Drew Hanlen (Sr., Belmont) – Averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds in two Bruin victories
- Aloys Cabell (So., Jacksonville) – Extended double-figure scoring streak to 13 games with 23 vs KSU and 13 vs. Mercer
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK:
Ty Greene, USC Upstate (Fr. – Guard – Knoxville, Tenn. – Sports Science)
- Second Career Newcomer of the Week award
- Hit a last-second three-pointer vs. Lipscomb to defeated the Bison
- Finished with 17 points with four trifectas to lead Spartans to road win
- Added four more three-pointers at Belmont on Monday
- Posted a team-high 18 points at Belmont with five assists and three boards
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Bernard Thompson (Fr., FGCU) – Recorded second double-double of season with 17 points, 12 rebounds vs. Stetson
- Travis Wallace (So., North Florida) – Scored a career-high 29 points in double-overtime victory vs Kennesaw State with 11 rebounds
