Patricia
Wilson Field
The Stetson University Board of Trustees have named the on-campus Softball
Complex "Patricia Wilson Field" to honor her long-standing support
of the Stetson Athletic Department. Patricia Maxcy Wilson, a 1947 Stetson
University graduate and her husband Pat Wilson '49, have donated $1 million
dollars to name a newly built residence hall on campus. With the softball
field nearing its final stages of completion, it was decided that half of
that donation would be used to name the field as well. The Wilson's are devoted
supporters of Stetson Athletics making the initial gift of $750,000 for the
Wilson Athletic Center in the 1990's and give annually for women's athletic
scholarships.
Patricia Wilson Field is located on East Arizona Avenue near the corner of
North Garfield Avenue. The facility currently features a clay-playing surface,
an outfield with Bermuda grass, irrigation, six bullpens, two batting cages,
dugouts, and a state-of-the art scoreboard. Last year other additions have
included five hitting stations, permanent restrooms and concession stand,
picnic table area, and lighting suitable for television games. A perimeter
fence has also been installed around the entire complex.

DIRECTIONS
From
Interstate 4
Take Exit 114, State Road 472. Travel west (left) to the exit ramp. Go north
(right) on Highway 17/92 (Woodland Blvd.). Travel through downtown DeLand
to campus. Turn right onto Ohio at the Lynn Business Center. Take a left on
Amelia and make a right onto Arizona. The field will be on the right.
From I-95/Daytona Beach
Take Exit 261 and head west on Highway 92/International Speedway Blvd. Travel
approximately 15 miles into DeLand. Take a left onto Amelia Ave. Take Amelia
into campus. Take a left on Arizona past the traffic light. The field will
be on the right.
From Miami
Take I-95 North to State Road 44 (DeLand/New Smyrna Beach Exit). Go west approximately
23 miles to DeLand. Take a right on Amelia Ave. Take a right onto Arizona.
The field will be on the right.

Credentials
Media planning to cover the event should request credentials through the host

Information
A game program featuring rosters and results for each participating team will
be available as well as statistical packets with final regular season stats
in addition to updated tournament and overall statistics daily during the
championship.
