BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Stetson advanced to a title tilt with Florida Atlantic by defeating East Tennessee State on Friday 5-2 in the losers’ bracket final at the 2006 Atlantic Sun Conference Softball Championship.

Andrea Migliori delivered two big hits for the Hatters, recording an RBI single in the first and two-run home run in the fifth. She finished the night two-for-four with three RBIs. Melissa Wiggins had three hits in four plate appearances, including a double.

Lindsay Wightman accounted for one run and an RBI, while Nicole Forbes had two hits and a run for the Hatters.

Stephanie Gaynord had a solo shot in the first for ETSU. Four Hatter runs in the fourth and fifth innings proved to be the demise of the Bucs.

Erica Demers (27-6) set a school record for wins, giving up four hits, one walk and striking out four.

Courtney Jenkins (7-14) went 4 2/3 and was marked for the loss behind seven hits and five runs allowed.

Stetson (44-15) returns to the field in Saturday’s 12:00 noon finale against the Owls. ETSU ends its run at 22-36.
