Wednesday, April 25, 2007 MACON, Ga. - Jennifer Nolan's grand slam powered a five-run second inning as Kennesaw State claimed at least a share of the Atlantic Sun Conference regular season title with a 7-1 win at Mercer. The Bears rallied to win game two 3-1 to keep their postseason hopes alive. KSU (40-18, 14-4 Atlantic Sun Conference) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Kelley Cowart reached base on a walk. April Keasler then drove in the Owls righ fielder for her 35th RBI of the season. Mercer (12-41, 5-9) had a chance to respond in bottom half of the inning when Holly Oglesbee led off the frame with a single to center field. After Kelly Bretscher flew out to left, Jaime Madruga reached on a fielder's choice and then stole second. Kristin Talamantes and Ashley Anderson each drew walks to load the bases for the Bears. But then the Owls ace, Brittany Matthews settled in and got C.J. Martin to fly out to end the inning and the threat. |
