NASHVILLE, Tenn. - There are a number of polls for collegiate softball and the Lipscomb Lady Bisons have been recognized in three of them this week.

The Lady Bisons entered this week ranked 25th in the Ultimate Softball Coaches website poll. They received 10 votes for the top 25 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Poll. They received one vote for the top 25 in that poll the previous week. This week the Lady Bisons also received their first votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll. They received eight votes.

Lipscomb coach Kristin Peck is taking all of the attention in stride.

“It’s a really neat thing for our program, the whole athletic department and the university to be recognized in this way,” Ryman said. “I’m very excited with what we have done so far.

“We are clicking on all cylinders. Our defense is playing strong. Our hitters have been outstanding so far; even off of the bench we have had some big key hits. The pitching has been right on cue as well.

Ryman knows that the most challenging portion of the schedule is still ahead with Evansville at home followed by a spring break trip to Hawaii where they will play multiple games with Hawaii and Cal-Berkeley. When they return they open the Atlantic Sun Conference portion of the schedule with home doubleheaders against ETSU and USC Upstate.

“Other coaches who have paid our team compliments say we are playing with a lot of swagger right now,” Ryman said. “They can see the confidence that we play with.
