No. 24 Lipscomb outduels No. 12 California for 1-0 victory

The Lipscomb Lady Bisons shut down No. 12-ranked California-Berkeley 1-0 Wednesday evening in the first round of the Hawaii Spring Fling in Honolulu, Hawaii.

In the second game they fell 3-0 to host Hawaii. It was the first time this season the Lady Bisons have been shut out.

This was the first time this season the Lady Bisons have beaten a nationally-ranked team this season.

Sophomore right-hander Whitney Kiihnl threw her sixth shutout of the season and the 13th for the Lady Bisons.

Kiihnl gave up only one hit. She walked three and struck out nine.

The Lady Bisons had seven hits in the game. Kellie Sirus slammed a double. Kiihnl had two hits to help her own cause.
