JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida softball team fell, 1-0, to Maryland in extra innings, but fought back in their second game of the day to defeat No. 16/17 (ESPN/NFCA Top 25) Ohio State, 1-0.

Senior pitcher Devyn Findley tossed a complete game in UNF's shutout of OSU.

She tossed a complete game shutout and registered nine strikeouts in her 10th win of the season. The Buckeye’s scattered four hits but couldn’t figure out the left-hander from Alachua, Fla.

In the bottom of the fourth inning with a runner on first, UNF almost had the opportunity to break open the game. Senior Airen Payne drove a ball deep to left field that looked to have wrapped around foul pole, but was signaled foul by the plate umpire on a close call.

But junior Stephany Hall came up with another big RBI for UNF. Similar to yesterday’s RBI single, Hall split the outfielders in left-center that brought home pinch runner Stephanie McAdam for the 1-0 advantage in the fifth inning.
