MACON, Ga. – Sharon Swanson’s powerful bat surged Kennesaw State past No. 22 Georgia Tech and Mississippi State this week as the sophomore belted a grand slam against the Yellow Jackets and two-run bomb against the Bulldogs. Preseason Pitcher of the Year, Whitney Kiihnl, earned two victories for Lipscomb including a 17-strikeout no-hitter against Samford.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Sharon Swanson, Kennesaw State (OF – So. – Canton, Ga.)
• First A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Batted .667 on 10-of-15 at the plate with three home runs on the week
• Mashed two-out grand slam against No. 22 Georgia Tech to give Owls 4-1 victory
• Added two-run dinger against Mississippi State to propel KSU to 3-2 win
• Capped the week with a 4-for-4 effort against Tennessee State

• Struck out a season-high 17 batters out of 19 faced in no-hitter against Samford
• Pitched 18 scoreless innings in three games to earn two victories
• Fanned 30 batters in total on the week; only allowed five hits
• Named Pitching MVP of the UAB Tournament
