MACON, Ga. – Mercer’s Randi Rea belted three home runs on the week including a three-run walk-off homer against Samford to earn the Atlantic Sun Conference Softball Player of the Week award, announced Monday by the league office. UNF’s Cortney Radke claimed four victories on the week with a 0.52 ERA and 36 strikeouts as she received the Pitcher of the Week honor.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Randi Rea, Mercer (3B – Fr. – Suwannee, Ga.)
• First A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Totaled three homers with nine RBI on the week to leads Bears to 4-1 record
• Hit three-run walk-off home run against Samford at home on Thursday
• Batted .357 on the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage
• Mercer defeated UConn, Georgia Southern and swept Samford

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Alyson Bailey (3B/OF, UNF) – Collected 10 hits with three doubles and six RBI in a 4-1 week for Ospreys
• Jackie Baird (C/IF, ETSU) – Notched 10 hits on the week including five extra-base hits in Buccaneer Classic
• Taylor McGee (C, Campbell) – Led the Camels with seven hits, seven RBI and three homers
• Ashley Byers (1B/P, Belmont) – Mashed two-run homer against Georgia Tech in Buckhead Classic
• Lindsey Green (C, FGCU) – Hit a three-run longball in victory against Creighton
• Janna Lewis (2B, USC Upstate) – Tallied 10 hits including two against No. 5 Washington
• Jordan Cleghorn (C, Stetson) – Batted .500 on the week to lead Hatters to four wins

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Cortney Radke, UNF (Fr. – New Port Richey, Fla.)
• First A-Sun Pitcher of the Week
• Turned in two shutouts with a 0.52 ERA on the week in four wins for the freshman
• Fanned 36 batters in 27 innings of work, while allowing only two earned runs against Kansas
• Led UNF fourth-consecutive shutout with 9-0 victory on Friday

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Meredith Owen (Fr., Stetson) – Earned two wins on the weekend in relief appearances
• Catherine McDaniel (Sr., FGCU) – Picked up two wins to go along with two complete games
• Morgan Childers (Sr., USC Upstate) – Tossed complete-game victory against Oregon State at Husky Classic
• Kari Chambers (Sr., Mercer) – 3-0 week with a 0.70 ERA to go along with 20 fanned batters
