MACON, Ga. – Jacksonville pitcher Sarah Sigrest picked up three wins for Jacksonville as the Dolphins clinched the school’s first softball regular season title to win her second Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week honor of the season. USC Upstate junior Janna Lewis led the Spartans to a sweep of ETSU, hitting .625, driving in a run and scoring four to win her first career Player of the Week honor.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Sarah Sigrest, Jacksonville (SP – Jr. – Daphne Ala. – Exercise Science)
• Third career Pitcher of the Week award, second this season
• Picked up three wins on the week, including both wins in doubleheader sweep of UNF
• Recorded 23 strikeouts for the week
• Allowed just four hits in 18 innings of work
• Recorded a 0.00 ERA and a paltry .071 batting average against for the week

OTHER NOMINEES:

• Hannah Alexander (SP, USC Upstate) – Tossed a three-hit shutout to complete a sweep of ETSU
• Jenni Holtz (SP, Mercer) – Fanned 11 batters and picked up a save in 5.2 innings of work

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Janna Lewis, USC Upstate (2B – Jr. – Huntersville, N.C. – Communications)
• First career A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Led Spartans to doubleheader sweep of ETSU
• Hit .625 with four runs scored, one RBI and two stolen bases
• Perfect in the field as well, recording two putouts and two assists

OTHER NOMINEES:

• Katie Kelly (SS, Jacksonville) – Hit .462 (6-of-13) with two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored
• Sara Stukes (SS, Mercer) – Hit .333 with a home run and two RBI in two games last week
