Wednesday, June 08, 2011 FORT MYERS, Fla. – Just a week after being named the FGCU Athletic Department’s 2010-11 Most Outstanding Co-Female Student-Athlete, Atlantic Sun Softball Player of the Year senior Courtney Platt (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast) garnered another postseason honor, earning a spot on 2011 Easton All-American third team. This is the second time in the program’s four years at the Division I level that an Eagle has earned All-American status by Easton. Cheyenne Jenks was named to the first team in 2008. Platt slugged her way to the A-Sun batting crown with a conference-best .387 average, while also leading the conference in doubles (16), walks (57) and total bases (93). The Naples, Fla., product closed out the season ranked fourth in the nation in walks per game (1.02) and fifth in on-base percentage (.576). Platt led the team with 30 RBI and had a hit in 37 out of 52 games, while producing 12 multi-hit games. Graduating in December with a degree in biology, Platt concludes her career atop the FGCU record book in walks (175) and doubles (49), is second in on-base percentage (.514), fourth in RBI (124) and fifth in homeruns (25), slugging percentage (.602) and triples (9). Platt was also a finalist for the Eagle Scholar Athlete award. “Once again Courtney has been given an honor she deserves,” said head coach David Deiros. “Her continued inclusion with the nation's elite softball players is proof of her great success at FGCU. As always we are very proud of her accomplishments.” 2011 Easton NCAA Division I First Team All-American Kayla Braud, University of Alabama, Sophomore Kelsey Bruder, University of Florida, Senior Megan Bush, University of Florida, Senior Kelsi Dunne, University of Alabama, Senior Andrea Harrison, UCLA, Junior Jolene Henderson, University of California, Berkeley, Sophomore Whitney Larsen, University of Alabama, Senior Blaire Luna, University of Texas, Sophomore Hannah Rogers, University of Florida, Freshman Brittany Schutte, University of Florida, Sophomore Jackie Traina, University of Alabama, Freshman Kelsi Weseman, Georgia Tech, Junior 2011 Easton NCAA Division I Second Team All-American Paige Affleck, Brigham Young University, Senior Allison Garcia, Bethune-Cookman University, Senior Amy Hooks, University of Texas, Senior Jessica Iwata, University of Hawai'i, Sophomore Michelle Moultrie, University of Florida, Junior Kara Nelson, Illinois State University, Senior Aja Paculba, University of Florida, Senior Jessica Phillips, Binghamton University, Sophomore Sara Plourde, University of Massachusetts, Junior Jamia Reid, University of California, Berkeley, Junior April Setterlund, Boston University, Senior Megan Yocke, University of Kentucky, Senior 2011 Easton NCAA Division I Third Team All-American Meagan Aull, Univerity of Kentucky, Senior Melanie Bryant, University of Central Arkansas, Sophomore Bailey Mietich, San Diego State University, Junior Michelle Moses, Fresno State University, Junior Courtney Platt, Florida Gulf Coast University, Senior Jessica Purcell-Fitu, Brigham Young University, Senior Ashley Ray, Nicholls State University, Junior Stephanie Ricketts, University of Hawai'i, Junior Kelly Strickland, Liberty University, Junior Andie Varsho, Purdue University, Freshman Jace Williams, University of California, Berkeley, Junior
