MACON, Ga. - USC Upstate's Shellie Robinson and Jacksonville's Brittany Eppley earned the final Atlantic Sun Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors of the season, announced by the league office on Monday. Robinson tallied two home runs and four RBI, while Eppley pitched a one-hit shutout.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Shellie Robinson, USC Upstate (IF - Fr. - Kennesaw, Ga.)
- Third Career A-Sun Player of the Week award; third of the season
- Batted .571 with two homers and four RBI
- Helped the Spartans secure the No. 3 seed in the championship
- Had three hits, three RBI and two runs in the win over Lipscomb
- Collected four hits with one run and one RBI against Belmont
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Kelsey Cartwright (IF, Lipscomb) – Batted .583 with one home run and four RBI
- Mia Vierra (P/3B/DP, Belmont) – Helped Belmont sweep ETSU with one run off three hits
PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Brittany Eppley, Jacksonville (Sr. – Jacksonville, Fla. – Nursing)
- First Career A-Sun Pitcher of the Week Award
- Went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA on the week
- Earned nine strikeouts in seven innings
- Pitched a one-hit shutout against Stetson to clinch a championship berth
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Meredith Owen (So., Stetson) – Threw a five-hit shutout to defeat Jacksonville
- Hannah Alexander (So., USC Upstate) – Went 2-0 on the week with a 1.08 ERA
