MACON, Ga. – Lipscomb freshmen Christen Campbell and Abby Keese led the Lady Bisons to a 5-2 week highlighted by two wins over Preseason Atlantic Sun favorite Stetson to claim the league’s weekly Player of the Week honors.
Keese hit .429 for the week, blasting four homers in six games. The shortstop stepped up her game during the Stetson Invitational as she collected eight hits in 17 at-bats to lead the Lady Bisons to the tournament’s best record. Keese currently ranks fourth in the A-Sun with eight homers, part of Lipscomb’s school record setting 30 dingers. The Denver, Colo., native is majoring in Education.
Campbell finished the week with a 4-0 record including a pair of victories against the Hatters. The right-hander hurled three complete games while fanning 22 batters in 27.1 innings of work. After the extraordinary weekend, Campbell improved to 10-6 overall with her 10 victories ranking third in the A-Sun. The Lakeland, Tenn., native is a Pre-Med major.

The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
