MACON, Ga. - Brittany Matthews did everything for Kennesaw State during the week, appearing in five games on her way to a 3-0 record with two saves to garner her second straight Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week Award. Florida Gulf Coast's Carmen Paez earned her second weekly award as well, as she took home Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday.

A senior from Brooks, Ga., Matthews ended up appearing in each game of the Under Armour Invitational, striking out a total of 32 batters and allowing no earned runs. The professional sales major hurled her second no-hitter of the season and struck out eight in an 8-0 Kennesaw State victory against Quinnipiac to highlight the Owls' 5-0 tournament outing. She had eight strikeouts in each of her other two starts, 3-0 win against Sam Houston State and a 4-0 victory against Syracuse. She allowed only eight hits in five games, and her 1.39 strikeouts per inning last week upped her conference leading total to 155.

As FGCU brought home their third tournament victory of the season, senior outfielder and Bell Glade, Fla. native Carmen Paez received the MVP award at the Miken Classic. During the tournament, the criminal justice student hit .538 and slugged 1.308 with three long balls and eight RBI. Throughout the entire week, Paez helped the Eagles to a 7-0 record by driving in 13 RBI and belting four home runs. Paez leads the conference with 14 bombs.
