Campbell Takes Softball Championship; Top Seed
|

MACON, Ga. - After the dust settled across A-Sun softball fields for the weekend, the Campbell Camels, despite not playing, remained in the top spot for the regular season championship. This is their first title since a 1996 divisional title.
Lipscomb and FGCU could have forged a tie with the Camels, but the two split its Saturday doubleheader. At 13-5, Lipscomb can earn the second seed with a win against rival Belmont on Saturday. Mercer, 14-6 in the conference, stands in line to be the third seed, barring two Bisons losses.
Jacksonville secured the fourth seed and ETSU took the fifth seed. The final spot in next month's A-Sun Championship came down to Saturday's Belmont at Stetson showdown. The Hatters need two victories to make the field and got them, earning a pair of eight-run victories, 8-0 and 9-1.
