The undefeated FAU Owls (6-0) will take on Eastern Washington (4-2) at the USF Best Western Invitational this weekend. Eastern Washington, who went 3-0 in the UNF Labor Day Classic last weekend defeated Jacksonville in the tournament.

Player of the Week
Kelly Paiva, FAU (Sr. - OH - Minas Gerais, Brazil - Criminal Justice) Paiva recorded a career-high 31 kills and 22 digs against Fairfield University on Saturday. She finished the week averaging 5.50 kills p/g and 4.30 digs p/g. She was named the tournament MVP guiding FAU to three wins and a 6-0 record on the year.

Other Top Performers
Tabitha Turner, CAM (Jr. - OH -Greensboro, N.C. - Mass Communications Major) Turner had 49 kills as the Camels went 2-2 at the Wolfpack Classic hosted by NC State. She posted a season high 20 kills in the Fighting Camels 3-2 victory over The Citadel.

Jaye Schuler, BEL (So. - MH- Lexington, Ill. - Education Major) Schuler led the Bruins to a 3-1 record at the DePaul Blue Demons Invitational in Chicago this past weekend. She led the team with a .397 hitting percentage, recording 35 kills and added 10 blocks.

Jennifer Sartor, ETSU (Jr. - RS/S - Toronto, Ont. - Exercise Science Major) Sartor recorded 41 kills in three matches in route to being an all-tournament selelction at the VCU Invitational. She added 27 digs, averaging 1.93 per game.

Julie Darty, MER (So. - OH - Oviedo, Fla.- Undecided on major) Darty recorded 28 kills and 15 digs in three matches at the Florida State Invitational. She was named to the all-tournament team after leading the Bears against FSU, Pittsburgh, and So. Carolina.

The Bruins (4-3) concluded a seven-match road trip last weekend, at the DePaul Blue Demon Invitational ... The team beat Chicago State (0-5), DePaul (1-4), and Evansville (3-2), but fell to Valparaiso (5-1) ... Senior Sara Jacobson (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Accounting) had a career-high 19 kills against Valparaiso to accompany her team-high 3 blocks in the match ... Belmont plays their first home match of the year Tuesday at 6:30p.m. against the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga Mocs (2-1).

The Campbell University volleyball team went 2-2 over the weekend to take third place at the Wolfpack Classic ... The Camels fell to Fordham 3-2 and host NC State 3-0 on the opening day of the tournament, before rebounding with a 3-0 win over South Carolina State and 3-2 win over The Citadel on the final day of the event ... The Fighting Camels will compete in front of the home crowd for this first time this season when they host the Campbell Classic on Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Bucs went 2-1 last weekend, with wins over UNC Greensboro and Radford ... ETSU narrowly missed a third victory, falling to VCU, 3-2 ... ETSU returns home to face Wofford on Wed., Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. in Brooks Gymnasium ... The Lady Bucs hit the road again this weekend for a trio of matches (Davidson, Duquesne, and Howard) at the Mizuno Wildcat Classic, hosted by Davidson in Davidson, N.C.

The team is off to the best start in program history since 1988 with a 6-0 record ... FAU won the FAU DoubleTree Classic this past week and Kelly Paiva was named tournament MVP ... Katie Arvidson and Makra Condill were also named to the All-Tournament Team ... Arvidson is hitting .401 and averaging 3.65 kills per game this season. She also leads the team with 31 blocks (1.35 blocks/game).

Gardner-Webb dropped a tough five-set match at High Point on Tuesday night before going 0-4 in its Over-The-Mountain Invitational over the weekend ... The Bulldogs are set to play at Western Carolina on Tuesday and will compete in the Savannah State classic on Friday and Saturday.

Mercer was swept by some very tough competition in the Florida State Invitational on Sept. 2-3, falling to 1-3 on the season ... Julie Darty was named to the all-tournament team for her performance on the weekend, notching 28 kills in the three matches ... The Bears will host their own tournament on Sept. 9-10 ... Memphis, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, and UNC-Asheville will travel to the University Center for the inaugural Bear Brawl.

Senior DeeAnn Dempsey led the Hatters last week with a 3.0 kpg average ... Sophomore Karla Readshaw led the team in assists (7.09 apg) and digs (3.18) last week ... Freshman Jamie Weidemann posted a .400 attack pct. ... After playing just four five-set matches last year, the Hatters have already played three in 2005 ... Stetson concludes a season-opening streak of nine consecutive road matches this week ... The Hatters will take on South Alabama, Charleston Southern, and UNC Greensboro at the CSU Invitational.
