Sartor Named A-Sun Player of the Week

Macon, Ga. – After helping ETSU go 2-0 last week, Jennifer Sartor (Toronto, ONT/Exercise Science) was named Atlantic Sun Volleyball Player of the Week today.

The junior led the Lady Bucs with 27 kills and 23 digs in two victories over Chattanooga and Campbell. In ETSU's first-ever A-Sun conference win over Campbell, she hit .323 and led both teams with 16 kills. For the week, she hit .317 with only eight errors on 60 attempts. Sartor is ranked fourth in hitting percentage (.287) in the league.

The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week every Monday during the 2005 volleyball campaign.

The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.

Honorable Mention

Rachel Templin, CAM -- Templin dominated play at the net both offensively and defensively guiding the Camels to a 1-1 record to open Atlantic Sun play. She recorded 25 kills and 16 blocks in two games. She averaged 3.12 kills, 2.00 blocks and 0.75 services aces per game over the two matches.

Carrie Brinkley, GWU -- Brinkley dished out a match-high 42 assists on Saturday night, becoming GWU's all-time career leader in assists at the Division I level with 2,012. Brinkley now sits as the all-time leading assist artist in the school's brief Division I history while also ranking second in service aces (97), fifth in games played (311) and ninth in digs (522). For the week, Brinkley averaged 9.89 assists, 1.33 digs and 0.22 aces in two matches.

Kellie Violette, MER -- Kellie Violette led the Bears with 20 kills and a .472 attack percentage during the week. Violette also recorded seven blocks for the Bears as they went 1-1 for the week.
