Campbell's Ashcraft Discusses 2006 Season

Thursday, July 27, 2006

“I am really looking forward to this upcoming season. I think that we have been moving as consistently as possible towards building a solid foundation with our program. This year will hopefully show off that hard work. We have a good core of returning players and strong newcomers that will hopefully help make this a benchmark year for Campbell volleyball.”

Schedule:

“Playing in tournaments at the beginning of the season really helps kick start your season. It gives us an opportunity to play teams that we don’t normally see from conferences that we don’t normally play. With tournaments set up for play on Friday and Saturday, it really helps us get adjusted to our conference schedule where we play also play on Friday and Saturday.

“The Atlantic Sun is going to be a dogfight from top to bottom with the addition of Kennesaw State this year and with Florida Atlantic leaving. The league has been very competitive for the last few years and it is going to remain that way this year. I like the fact that there is not a perennial championship team that everyone is looking up to. We have seen some very quick rises from some programs in this league. This makes conference play very exciting. Certainly reaching the Atlantic Sun Tournament is a high priority as well as performing well once we get there.”
