Tuesday, November 22, 2005 KENNESAW, Georgia – Kennesaw State head volleyball coach Valerie Jones announced Wednesday the signing of four prep stars to letters of intent in the first-ever recruiting class for the Owls. Ginny Frederick, Sabrita Gulley Asjia Stokes and Jenny Black will join Kennesaw State for the 2006 season, their first as members of the NCAA Division I. Frederick is a 6-0 setter from Snellville, Georgia and Shiloh High School. A three-year starter at Shiloh HS, Frederick was a two-time all-area selection as well as being named 4AAAAA Player of the Year in her junior year. An all-county selection in both her junior and senior season, she also led her club team to the Junior Nationals in 2004. “Ginny is an exciting athlete, she is extremely versatile as a setter and hitter,” said Jones about her first signee. “She was the epitome of what I want in setter; she puts a huge block and is very offensive minded. She has all-tools to become outstanding collegiate setter. She plays with a lot of intensity and passion and is a great leader on and off the court.’ |
