UNF's Kohler Gives Player of the Week Performance

Macon, Ga. – After leading UNF volleyball team to a 3-1 week, Emily Kohler's performance garnered Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honors. Kohler hit .323 for the week, tallying 54 kills, 15 assists, seven aces, 48 digs and 10 blocks.

She helped the Ospreys to victories over Appalachian State, Murray State and Idaho State in the UNF Labor Day Classic. In the Osprey's only loss to UCF, Kohler had 16 kills and 15 digs. So far this season, she has a hitting percentage of .303 and is among the league's top-10 in that category

Kohler is a senior from Tallahassee, Fla., and is majoring in Health Science.

The Ospreys will be back in action this Friday at the UNC Charlotte Invitational. They will take on East Carolina, Penn and UNC Charlotte.

The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week every Monday during the 2006 volleyball campaign.

The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.

Other Top Performers

Cat Mundy, BEL (So. - OH - Dallas, Texas - Music Business) -- Mundy hit .174 for the week, tallying 64 kills and 12 digs in four matches.

Jennifer Sartor, ETSU (Sr. - MB - Toronto, ONT - Sport Management Science) -- Sartor accumulated 45 kills at the UNC Asheville Volleyball Classic, helping the Lady Bucs to a 2-1 record and a second-place finish. She was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Melissa Merchant, JU
(Jr. - MB - Oakley, Calif. - Political Science) -- Merchant was named MVP of the Crispers Invitational, leading the team to a 3-0 record and the tournament title.

Jen Darty, MER (Fr. - MB - Orlando, Fla. - Undecided) -- Darty recorded her first collegiate double-double in the match against Ball State.
