Belmont Bruins

Belmont Volleyball improved to 21-6, 8-1 in the Atlantic Sun this past week with home wins over North Florida and Jacksonville. In the process, the Bruins earned the #2 seed and an opening round bye in the upcoming Atlantic Sun Volleyball Tournament. Senior Katie Tobiasz wrapped up her regular season home career in fine fashion, tallying 31 kills, 15 digs, seven aces, four blocks, and hitting .429 in the two victories. Fellow senior Erin Janson added 23 kills and 27 digs. Belmont concludes its regular season Tuesday night at Chattanooga.

Campbell Camels

The Camels have tied their most overall wins since 2001 with at least four more matches remaining. Campbell recorded 17 aces in back-to-back matches, the most in consecutive matches in school history. Freshman Ashley Weers is projected to be in the top 10 in the nation in service aces when the NCAA rankings come out on Tuesday and the Camels are projected to be in the top 5 in the nation as a team in service aces with 2.41 per game….Campbell steps out of conference on Tuesday traveling to High Point before hosting Gardner-Webb on Saturday with A-Sun Tournament spots on the line. CU has outhit their opponents in 12 of its last 15 matches

Gardner-Webb Bulldogs

The Gardner-Webb volleyball team won its only match of the week, a come from behind 3-2 victory over Campbell Saturday afternoon, securing its first-ever conference tournament berth. The win was the Bulldogs' first road victory in the conference since Oct. 1, 2002. Three student-athletes were in double figures in kills while six were in double figures for digs. Ashley Pridgeon led the team with 21 kills while Jackie Mathison posted a career six-high six total blocks. This week, the Bulldogs travel to UNC Asheville Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Lipscomb Bisons


Lindsey Rutherford, Catherine Johnson and Samantha Sullivan were honored on Senior Night Saturday night at Allen Arena prior to the North Florida match. ...Rutherford became only the second player in school history to break 1,000 in both digs and kills. ...The Lady Bisons won two five-game matches beating Tennessee State Oct. 31 and Jacksonville Nov. 3. The Lady Bisons are 4-1 in five-game matches with only one regular season game remaining Tuesday night at Tennessee Tech. Libero Ann Mullins posted her fourth plus-30 digs performance of the season with 32 against Jacksonville. The Lady Bisons have qualified for the A-Sun Tournament for the second year in row.

Mercer Bears

Mercer went 0-2 for the week, falling in four games to both Florida A&M and Stetson. Senior Kellie Violette recorded a career-high 11 blocks (one solo, 10 assists) against FAMU and freshman Jen Darty tied her season-high with 10 block assists. Senior libero Liz Kane passed the 1,800 mark in career digs in her performance against Stetson. Kane's 27-dig performance at Stetson pushed her career total to 1,822 digs. Junior Drennan Dexheimer grabbed her fourth double-double of the season, leading the team with 15 kills and 15 digs against Stetson. The Bears face Savannah State Wednesday in Savannah, Ga. In their last meeting, the Bears swept SSU and freshman Chelsea Gebben broke an NCAA record for consecutive points served (22).
