Goldbach Sets Career High and Takes Weekly Honor

MACON, Ga. – A career night for Campbell’s Allyson Goldbach against Coastal Carolina earned her the Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball Player of the Week award, announced Monday by the league office. The senior from Jupiter, Fla., accumulated 21 kills and 23 digs, a career-high, to lead the Fighting Camels past the Chanticleers for a five-set victory.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Allyson Goldbach, Campbell (Outside Hitter – Sr. – Jupiter, Fla. – Communication Studies)
• First-time A-Sun Player of the Week winner
• Amassed 21 kills and 23 digs in a 3-2 victory against Coastal Carolina on the road
• One away from tying personal career-high in kills; set career best in digs
• Second 20-kill match of the season and third of her career
• Opend the match with seven kills in opening set and tallied six more in the fourth set

OTHER NOMINEES:
• Sara Metroka (S, Kennesaw State) – totaled 40 assists in a 3-0 sweep of Alabama A&M
• Brittany Lehman (OH, Jacksonville) – finished with two doubles and a .333 hitting percentage
• Krista Hurley (MB, Mercer) – smashed 12 kills on 14 attempts against Florida A&M
• Megan Devine (OH, ETSU) – accumulated 29 kills and 9 digs on the week
