Friday, November 16, 2012

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Fourth-seeded North Florida stunned No. 1 FGCU 3-2 (25-20, 25-18, 22-25, 23-25, 15-12) on Friday to advance to its first A-Sun Championship Final in program history. The Ospreys will face No. 3 seed ETSU at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Allen Arena.

North Florida jumped out to a 2-0 lead and it appeared that the Ospreys' first win against FGCU since joining the A-Sun in 2007 would be a sweep. FGCU battled, however, claiming the next two sets to force the dramatic fifth set. North Florida hit .348 in the fifth to finish off the Eagles, while FGCU hit .208 in the fifth set and posted a staggering low of .190 for the match.
