LEXINGTON, Ky. – ETSU volleyball picked up its third straight win and swept 2012 NCAA Tournament participant Liberty 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-21) on Friday night at the Kentucky Classic inside Memorial Coliseum.

The win is the first in four opportunities that A-Sun teams will have this weekend to defeat participants from the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The Bucs face No. 21 Kentucky tomorrow and FGCU faces No. 15 Florida State and No. 23 Ohio State in the Seminole Classic, also tomorrow.

It was the third straight sweep for the Bucs after dropping their first two matches to start the season. The Blue and Gold have regrouped nicely by improving to 3-2 on the campaign while taking down two-time defending Big South Conference champion Liberty. The Flames have won six consecutive regular season conference championships and appeared in the last two NCAA Tournaments.

The Bucs were fluid offensively as ETSU registered a season-high .326 (45-15-92) attack percentage along with recording seven service aces. ETSU topped Liberty in every category except errors, and was led by Megan Devine (15 kills), Jamie Rutledge (36 assists), Renzey Rice (3 aces), Katie Muey (14 digs) and Khadija Wiley (5 blocks).

The Bucs wrap up the Kentucky Classic on Saturday when they face VCU at 1 p.m. and get a rematch with their 2012 NCAA Tournament opponent and the host Wildcats at 7 p.m.
