MACON, Ga. – Belmont senior middle hitter Jaye Schuler performed brilliantly over five matches last week earning her first Atlantic Sun Player of the Week for the 2007 season, announced on Tuesday by the conference office. She racked up 56 kills in five matches with an eye-popping .434 hitting percentage for the week.
Schuler opened the week notching 12 kills in just 15 attack attempts against Austin Peay last Tuesday, and hammered 15 kills in the Bruins victory over defending Ohio Valley Conference champion Jacksonville State on Friday night at the Comcast Lady Vol Classic. The senior closed the tournament with 14 kills and a .500 hitting percentage against Appalachian State en route to earning all-tournament team honors.

Roberta Santos, FGCU (Jr. - S – Recife, Brazil – Resort/Hospitality Management) – Named MVP of the UNC/Hampton Inn & Suites Classic, dishing out 57 assists for the weekend.
Sara Bendorf, JU (Jr. - OH – Buckley, Wash. – Accounting) – Notched 53 kills and hit .348 for the week, earned all-tournament honors at The Loop Pizza Grill Invitational.
