MACON, Ga. – After dropping its first match as a Division I program, Florida Gulf Coast has reeled off three consecutive tournament titles and nine consecutive victories. Piloting the Eagles blitz of Division I competition is junior Roberta Santos, earning Most Valuable Player designation at each of the previous three tournaments. On Monday, the Atlantic Sun Conference added yet another accolade to the setter’s impressive resume, naming her Player of the Week. It is Santos’ first such honor, as well as the first for the FGCU volleyball program.

The Brazil native quarterbacked the Eagles to three straight 3-0 victories over the weekend (bringing their current sweep streak up to five), averaging 4.33 kills per game, 6.89 assists per game and 1.56 digs per game. The junior hit a stratospheric .440 for the weekend, and her precise setting helped the FGCU offense to a .312 hitting percentage and 17.33 kill per game average.
