MACON, Ga. – Florida Gulf Coast’s 14-match winning streak was snapped over the weekend, but not for a lack of effort from junior Ana Kokanovic. The outside hitter notched a pair of double-doubles on the weekend, including a 21 kill, 20 dig performance against preseason conference favorite Belmont Friday night, and on Monday the Atlantic Sun Conference office named her Player of the Week for the first time in her career. She is the second Eagle honored this season.

Kokanovic powered the Eagles to their 14th consecutive victory Friday night, hammering out 21 kills and digging 20 balls in a 3-1 victory over the defending conference champion Bruins. A second-straight double-double wasn’t enough on Sunday afternoon however, as Lipscomb handed FGCU its first conference loss 3-2. Even in defeat the Serbia native was again brilliant both offensively and defensively, netting 18 kills and 25 digs on the afternoon. For the week, the marketing major compiled a .369 hitting percentage with 39 kills, 45 digs and 10 service aces, and ranks in the top-five in the conference in hitting percentage (.369) and kills per game (3.55).
