Macon, Ga. -- Sixteenth-seeded Florida Atlantic will be dancing to a little
country as they head to Music City, USA to take on the top seeded Louisiana
State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on March 18.
The Owls (20-10) won their first ever Atlantic Sun championship last week after
Tournament MVP Shontavia Williams put her Florida Atlantic teammates on her
back, averaging 24.3 points and nine rebounds per game. She will be flanked
by Shuteamia Brayboy, Amanda Bulin and Brittney Crenshaw as they take on a Final
Four tested LSU team.
Led by the nation's leading scorer and 2005 National Player of the Year Seimone
Augustus, LSU (27-3) will face an Atlantic Sun team for the second consecutive
season in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers cruised to a 70-36 first round victory
over last season's A-Sun Champion Stetson Hatters.
Saturday's game will played at Vanderbilt's Memorial Gym in Nashville, Tenn.,
and televised on ESPN. Live stats will be available at NCAASports.com.
