MACON, Ga. - Thirteen Atlantic Sun Women's Basketball games are slated for play over the next week - all of which are conference games. All games can be seen on ASun.TV.
Atlantic Sun Women's Basketball Weekly Notes:
- FGCU ranks in the top-15 nationally in several categories: three-point field goal made per game (No. 1, 11.9 three-pointers), scoring margin (No. 4, 23.5 points), three-point field goal percentage (No. 9, 38.0), won-lost percentage (No. 10, 89.5 percent), turnovers per game (No. 10, 13.5), scoring defense ( No. 11, 51.5 points), and assists per game (No. 14, 17.1 APG).
- FGCU continues to lead the league in scoring offense, 75.9, and scoring defense, 51.3. Stetson is second in both categories, averaging 69.8 PPG and allowing 62.7 PPG.
- Currently sitting with 45 wins on the season, FGCU needs eight more wins to secure the best two-year win total in conference history. Their total of 52 wins from 2009-11 is tied with FIU’s 1993-95 squad for best all-time.
- FGCU continues to lead the league in scoring offense, 75.1, and scoring defense, 51.5. Stetson is second in scoring offense, 68.5, while North Florida is second in scoring defense allowing 62.2 points.
- FGCU and Stetson appeared in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll again this week. The Eagles held steady at No. 3, while Stetson dropped three spots to No. 23. FGCU also received 16 votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll this week and four voted in the Associated Press Poll.
- Mercer leads the league in blocked shots with 84 on the season, and average of 4.2 per game. The Bears’ Alex Phillips is fourth in the league averaging 1.4 per game, Ry’van Buchanan is sixth with 1.3 per game and Sharmesia Smith and Alicia Williams average 0.5 blocks per game.
- The Tuesday night ETSU vs. LSU game drew the second-largest attendance in ETSU history with 4,092 fans in attendance to watch ETSU nearly defeat SEC rival LSU. LSU 71, ETSU 68 -OT
- USC Upstate is No. 11 in the nation, and leads the league, in free-throw percentage with 77.7 percent. Stetson is a close behind at No. 13 in the nation and second in the league with 77.1 percent.
- Belmont’s Haley Nelson is tied for 10th in the nation for double-doubles on the season with 10. Nelson recorded two double-doubles this week. She leads the A-Sun at the moment for active career double-doubles.

- FGCU’s Eglah Griffin is No. 2 in the nation for three-point field goal percentage with 48.8 percent. Griffin trails only Winthrop’s Samiya Wright with 49.4 percent.
- Lipscomb’s Anna Bowers reached 1,000 career points after a 19-point performance against USC Upstate. The feat puts her fifth in the Atlantic Sun for career active leaders (1,017).
- Kennesaw State’s Sametria Gideon leads the league in offensive rebounds with 69 on the season. Belmont’s Haley Nelson leads the league in total defensive rebounds with 127.
- Jacksonville leads the conference in steals with 231 on the season, averaging 11.6 per game. JU’s Crystal Bell ranks second in the conference averaging 2.9 SPG. Jade Cargill is close behind, ranking fifth with 2.2 SPG.
