Macon, Ga. - Macon, Ga. - The Atlantic Sun Conference today announced the women's basketball all-academic honorees and newcomer UNF topped the list with 12 student-athletes receiving honors. In total, 77 A-Sun women's basketball student-athletes received recognition for their work in the classroom.

Fifteen women had grade point averages of 3.8 or better. Belmont's Jenny Conkle and Megan Riddle along with Florida Atlantic's Sharia Young and Stetson's Jaclyn Piloto each posted a 4.0 in the fall.

After UNF, was Gardner-Webb, who had 11 student-athletes earn all-academic honors, while Mercer had 10. Campbell had nine, Belmont and Lipscomb each had a total of eight. They are followed by Florida Atlantic (6), Stetson (5), Kennesaw State (4), ETSU and JU with two each.

To be named A-Sun All-Academic, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.0 or higher GPA in the classroom. Belmont is the two-time defending champion of the all-academic trophy, which is given to the institution with the greatest percentage of student-athletes receiving honors.
