JU's Williams Garners Player of the Week Award

Macon, Ga. – Leading Jacksonville to its best start in program history, Ashley Williams was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week Monday by the conference office. Williams averaged 24.5 points, six rebounds while shooting 70 percent from the floor in two victories last week.

The junior forward finished with a program-record 32 points on 14-of-18 shooting from the floor to go along with five rebounds and five steals to lead the Dolphins to a 105-66 victory over Charleston Southern Monday night.

Jacksonville set five team records in the contest with points scored (105), first half points (53), second half points (52), field goals made (41) and margin of victory (39 points).

Against South Carolina State, Williams finished with a game-high 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor, despite being constantly tripled teamed in the post. She also finished with seven rebounds in the contest.

Williams, a business major from Jacksonville, Fla., earns her third career Player of the Week award.

The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.

Other Top Performers

Alysha Clark, BEL (So. - F - Mt. Juliet, Tenn. - Undeclared) -- Clark scored a game-high 22 points and had a game-high 15 rebounds. The Mt. Juliet, Tenn. native also had two assists.

Siarre Evans, ETSU (Fr. - G - Griffin, Ga. - Sports Management) -- Evans posted career highs with 16 points, nine rebounds, six steals and five assists in the 82-68 loss to Davidson.

Rosetta Hollis, KSU (Fr. - F - Fort Benning, Ga. - Early Childhood Development) -- Hollis poured in 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in KSU's 54-50 win over Morgan State on Saturday night. Against IPFW on Friday, Hollis netted a game-high 18 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Nicole Leonard, MER (So. - F - Gretna, La. - Undeclared) -- Leonard led the Bears with 13 points and seven rebounds against Texas A&M.

Antoinette Reames, UNF (So. - C - Orlando, Fla. - Graphic Arts)-- Reames led the Lady Ospreys with seven blocks in two games at the Lancer Invitational, blocking five shots against New Jersey Tech, which was the second most blocks in a game in UNF history.
