ETSU's Wilhoit Earns Player of the Week Award

Macon, Ga. – Helping ETSU to three road victories and a strong conference opening, Brooke Wilhoit was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week Monday by the conference office. She averaged 10.3 points, five rebounds and 8.7 assists against UNC Asheville, Mercer and Stetson.

The senior guard scored a team high 17 points at UNC Asheville, pulled down four rebounds and dished out eight assists carrying the Lady Bucs to a 91-79 victory. In the conference opener against Mercer, Wilhoit chipped in eight points, six boards and six assists in the 56-29 win. At Stetson, she scored six points, five rebounds and dropped off a career-high 12 assists as ETSU went on to a 78-69 win.

The Sevierville, Tenn., native ranks second in the leagues in assists per game (5.25) and has 42 on the season. She earns her first career A-Sun Player of the Week award and is majoring in Nursing.

The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.

Alysha Clark, BEL (So. - F - Mt. Juliet, Tenn. - Undeclared) -- Clark picked up her fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season and crossed the 700 point mark.

Taylor Oliver, CAM (Fr. - G - Smyrna, Tenn. - Undecided) -- Oliver scored 16 of her career-high 19 points in the second half of CU's 57-54 come-from-behind victory over Gardner-Webb on Saturday.

Virginia Gregoire, JU (So. - G - Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - Marketing) --For the week, Gregoire averaged 10 points, six rebounds, five assists, 1.5 steals and a .320 shooting percentage.

Ngoneh Gaye, KSU (So. - F - Pawtucket, R.I. - Undecided) -- Gaye posted her second and third double-doubles of the season with a 13-point, 13-rebound effort at Stetson and 14 points and a career-high 19 rebounds versus Mercer.

TaShera Lewis, MER (So. - F - Eastman, Ga. - Biology) -- Lewis scored a career-high 22 points against Kennesaw State.

Jennifer Bowen, UNF (So. - G - St. James, Mo. - Undecided )-- Bowen scored a career high 16 points, pulled down three rebounds and came up with three steals to lead UNF to its first conference win of the year against Lipscomb.

Sharnesha Smith, STET (So. - G - Kingsland, Ga. - Sports Management) -- Smith scored a career-high 21 points on 9-18 shooting as well as 2-4 from three point range agains Kennesaw State.
