portion of their schedule closes out. The Bruins have only lost two games all
season, both to nationally ranked opponents. Last week, BU held off Radford,
72-64, in its only game of the week. Sophomore Alysha Clark picked up her sixth
double-double of the season with 23 points and 19 rebounds to push the Bruins
to the win. Classmate Jessica Bobbitt and redshirt freshman Amber Rockwell also
reached double figures, contributing 12 points apiece. Junior Laura Cowley )

Fighting Camels
Campbell improved to 12-1 all-time in Atlantic Sun openers with a 57-54
come-from-behind victory over Gardner-Webb last Saturday. Freshman Taylor Oliver
scored 16 second-half points for the second-consecutive game finishing with
19 to lead the comeback for the Lady Camels. CU returns to action Monday night
at Coastal Carolina after taking all of last week off for final exams. In CU's
first four games of the season, it made just six threes combined. Over the past
two games, Campbell has made 13 three pointers, with seven coming from Oliver.
ETSU
Bucs
After a 13 day break in between action the Lady Bucs return
to the court this Friday, Dec. 15 when they travel to Cape Girardeau and play
Southeast Missouri State. ETSU will be going for its fourth consecutive win
(all on the road). ETSU is the only team in the A-Sun to have two players average
at least 14.0 ppg this season. Junior Michele DeVault and freshman Siarre Evans
have both scored 112 total points for the Lady Bucs, and are the only two players
on the same team to reach the 100-point plateau. The Lady Bucs lead the A-Sun
with a 73.5 free throw percentage and have seven players shooting over 70 percent
from the charity stripe. Michele DeVault leads the A-Sun, shooting 88.9 percent
from the line, which also ranks her 48th in the nation.
Gardner-Webb
Bulldogs
The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team dropped its only game
of the week by a score of 73-44 at High Point. The Bulldogs were led by freshman
Merand Burnett's 14 points while senior Brittany Harmon pulled down a career-best
17 rebounds. GWU will look to get back on track this week as it hosts Longwood
on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. in the friendly confines of Paul Porter Arena.
Jacksonville
Dolphins
Freshman guard Teneshia Ruff tallied her first career points
after going 1-for-2 from the floor in six minutes at Georgia Tech. Sophomore
guard Regina Omoite tied her career-high with eight rebounds against Georgia
Tech. Sophomore guard Virginia Gregoire went a career-best 4-for-8 from beyond
the arc at Georgia Tech. With their loss to Georgia Tech, the Dolphins snapped
a five-game winning streak in non-conference action. JU leads the Atlantic Sun
Conference in scoring (68.9 ppg), field-goal percentage (.423), 3-point field
goal percentage (.364) and assists (15.9 apg).
Kennesaw
State Owls
KSU went 0-2 last week, falling to Georgia Tech and Clemson on the road.
The Lady Owls were out-rebounded in the two games by a margin of 13.5. Forward
Stephanie Scearce has started to return to the form of two years ago after sitting
out last season with a knee injury. The Blue Ridge, Georgia native posted 30
points and 15 rebounds in the two games, including a 20-point, 11-board effort
at Georgia Tech. The Lady Owls will return home for the first time in over a
month when they host Charleston Southern on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m.
Lipscomb
Bisons
The Lady Bisons have enjoyed a much needed rest. They are finishing
final exams this week. They will not be back on the court until Dec. 20- and
21 when they play in Vanderbilt's holiday tournament. Also in the field are
Longwood and Indiana State. The Lady Bisons will then be off until Jan. 2 when
LaSalle visits.
Mercer
Bears
The Bears will have a 10-day layoff before their next game. Mercer plays
New Orleans on the road Dec. 19, and wrapped up a three-game home stand last
Saturday, Dec. 9, against Florida A&M. A pair of Mercer players will be making
homecomings to Louisiana. Junior Erin Keller hails from LaPlace and graduated
from East St. John High School while sophomore Nicole Leonard calls Gretna home
and graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican School.
UNF
Ospreys
UNF fell to Bethune-Cookman in its only contest this week, losing in
Daytona Beach 57-40. The Lady Ospreys took more shots in the game at BCC - 62
- than they have in any other game this season, thanks in no small part to forcing
BCC into 28 turnovers and coming away with 16 steals. Jennifer Bowen scored
in double figures (12 pts.) for the second game in a row, marking the first
time in the sophomore's career that she has had back-to-back games in double
figures. Bowen also tied a career high with nine rebounds, finishing one board
short of a double-double. The Lady Ospreys will finally wind up their road swing
to begin the season next week when they travel to Orlando, Fla., for the UCF
Holiday Classic.
