Career High Night Garners POTW Honors for Murphy

Macon, Ga. – Hot shooting and board crashing led Campbell's Marlena Murphy to her first Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award. She shot 83 percent from the floor in the Camels' victory over UNC Wilmington.

In 30 minutes of play, the junior forward stepped up, notching her fourth-consecutive double-double with a career-high 23 points and season-high 13 rebounds in a 69-55 road win over UNC Wilmington. This marks the third straight game in which Murphy has set a career high in points and her eighth double-figure scoring game.

The Fayetteville, N.C. native shot 10-of-12 from the floor, tallied an assist, a block and three steals in her team's first road win of the season. Of Murphy's 13 rebounds, seven were offensive. She is majoring in psychology.

The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.

Alysha Clark, BEL (So. - F - Mt. Juliet, Tenn. - Undeclared) -- Clark netted 14 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds at Alabama.

Siarre Evans, ETSU (Fr. - G - Griffin, Ga. - Sports Management) -- Evans scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assists and forced three steals against Radford.

DaVina Hamilton, JU So. - G - Miami, Fla. - Communications) -- Against Niagara, Hamilton finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Against USF, she led the squad with 15 points, four assists and two steals.

TaShera Lewis, MER (So. - F - Eastman, Ga. - Biology) -- Lewis led team in points for third game this season. Tied for team lead with six rebounds against SLU.

Jennifer Bowen, UNF (So. - G - St. James, Mo. - Undecided ) -- Bowen led the team with 11 points against Georgia State, while scoring 10 points to go along with four steals against UCF.

Shayna Swinson, STET (So. - F - Atlanta, Ga. - Undecided) -- Swinson put up a career and game-high 15 rebounds against South Alabama.
