Belmont Bruins

• The Belmont solidified its place at the top of the Atlantic Sun with wins over Stetson and Mercer last week. The Bruins breezed by Stetson, 73-47, and shut down Mercer, 61-38. • Sophomore Alysha Clark led the Bruins in scoring both nights, picking up her ninth double-double of the season against the Hatters with 27 points and 11 rebounds and falling just short of her 10th against the Bears with 13 points and eight rebounds. • Belmont wraps a three-game homestand at the Curb Event Center on Monday night when it hosts IPFW. This weekend, the Bruins will take part in part one of the Battle of the Boulevard at Lipscomb.

Campbell Fighting Camels

ETSU Bucs

The Lady Bucs defeated the Lady Camels, 87-66, on Thursday night, and beat the Runnin’ Bulldogs 81-68 on Saturday afternoon. • Five Lady Buc players reached double figures in the win over Campbell, as freshman Siarre Evans led the way with 20 points. Four ETSU players reached double digit scoring in Boiling Springs on Saturday with Jenny Norman scoring a game-high 16 points. • The Lady Bucs have won eight of their last 11 games, and four straight Atlantic Sun road games. In those 11 games, four ETSU players are averaging double figures.

Gardner-Webb Bulldogs

Gardner-Webb split a pair of home conference games last week. The squad defeated Kennesaw State 52-44 before falling to ETSU 81-68. • Against the Owls, three players tallied nine points while Shameka Smith pulled down a game-high 12 boards. • A trio of Bulldogs netted double figures against ETSU, including Candyse Kelly, who scored a game-high 16. This week, GWU travels to Mercer for a Thursday night game before heading to Florida to take on Stetson. The Bulldogs have won two of their last three conference games and beat UNF by four the last time they were on the road.

Jacksonville Dolphins

JU started the season off on a good note by winning its first four games of the season. The feat was the best start by the Dolphins in program history and marked the first four-game winning streak since 2001. • With the Dophins’ win against North Florida on Jan. 13, JU has now recorded two four-game winning streaks in the same season for the first time in program history. The longest winning streak all-time is six games (2000-01).

Kennesaw State Owls

Lipscomb Bisons

Junior point guard Catie Woods scored a career-high 21 points Saturday in an 82-71 loss at Kennesaw State. She is the first Lady Bisons player to score 20 or more points this season. • Sophomore wing player Jilian Partin has contributed across the board in her last five games, leading the team in scoring and rebounding once, tying for the scoring and rebounding leads once, leading in steals once and leading in assists once. • Senior center Penny Jones leads the A-Sun overall in free throw percentage (86 percent). Junior forward Julie Martin is the overall leader in 3-point field goal percentage (48.3).

Mercer Bears

While seven players have missed games for the Bears this season due to injury, all but two have returned to the lineup. Nicole Leonard is the latest player to return. The sophomore played in both games last week against Lipscomb and Belmont, leading Mercer with 10 points against Lipscomb Thursday night. • Mercer opens a two-game home stand this week, facing Gardner-Webb Thursday and Campbell Saturday. The Bears leads the series with the Runnin’ Bulldogs 4-3, including a 2-1 mark in Macon. The Lady Camels lead the series 19-10, including a 9-5 advantage in Macon.

UNF Ospreys

UNF finished the week 0-2 after losing to Bethune-Cookman at home and JU on the road in this year’s first installment of the SunTrust River City Rumble. • Denisia Andrews turned in her best game as a Lady Osprey against B-CC, finishing the contest with career highs in points (12) and steals (6). Andrews followed that up with a seven-point performance against JU . • Lady Ospreys will leave the state of Florida for the first time in more than a month when they head to East Tennessee State and Kennesaw State this week.
