Stetson Hosts Mercer in League Matchup on CSS

Saturday, February 03, 2007

Get your dose of Atlantic Sun women's basketball on Sunday when Stetson host Mercer in a regionally televised matchup on CSS. The Hatters are looking to reach .500 against a squad that is yet to secure a conference win.

On January 6, the Hatters took on Mercer in Macon and left with a win. Now the Hatters are back home at the Edmunds Center looking for a sweep with the leadership of seniors Janene Maclin and Kim Manning.

After two tough road losses in Jacksonville, against UNF and Jacksonville University, the Hatters have worked hard on the practice courts getting ready for Mercer. With three straight home games the Hatters hope to add marks to the win column.

Plagued by injuries, Mercer has yet to capture a win in league action. The Bears will rely on TaShera Lewis and Sally Skeldon. Lewis is averaging 13.3 points in A-Sun games, while Skeldon is third in the league in assists, averaging 4.67 in conference play.
