Friday, February 23, 2007 Second place ETSU hosts fith place Kennesaw State in a battle on CSS Friday night. Picked to finish dead last in the preseason poll, the Owls have let their play speak for them, taking some decisive key victories. The matchup will be called by Justin Cazana and Robin Muller. Led by freshman sensation Siarre Evans, ETSU is looking to avenge its loss to Jacksonville. Evans had a a game-high 26 points last Thursday. Evans leads the Lady Bucs in scoring (13.6), rebounds (7.5) and steals (62), and ranks third in assists (64). Evans has posted double figures in 19 games, including 13 of her last 15 contests. She ranks third in the A-Sun with 2.48 steals per game, ranks fourth in scoring and sixth in rebounding. Like ETSU, Kennesaw State is coming off a split where they also beat UNF and fell to Jacksonville. The Lady Owls played a tight game against the Ospreys as Gia Lockett’s jumper with three seconds remaining gave them a 58-56 victory. However, KSU was dealt a 17-point loss (74-57) two days later when they played Jacksonville. Three Lady Owl players are averaging double figures as freshman Rosetta Hollis leads the way with 13.1 ppg. ETSU leads the all-time series, 3-0, after defeating the Lady Owls 95-88 on Jan. 27. The 95 points scored is the highest scoring performance this season in the A-Sun between two conference foes as well as the most points scored in an A-Sun league game since 2004.
